This year’s FIA American Congress brought together the FIA community from across the Americas for three days of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and celebration. Hosted by the Touring y Automóvil Club Paraguayo, the event welcomed 114 participants representing 34 FIA Member Clubs. Together, we explored key regional challenges, shared innovative solutions, and strengthened the bonds that unite our network.
A Grand Opening in Asunción
The Congress was officially opened in Paraguay’s capital by President Santiago Peña, FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, and Touring y Automóvil Club Paraguayo President Hugo Mersan. The opening session featured remarks from a distinguished lineup of FIA leaders, including:
- Tim Shearman, FIA Deputy President for Automobile Mobility and Tourism
- Carmelo Sanz de Barros, FIA Senate President
- Ricardo Morales Rubio, President of FIA Region IV (South and Central America)
- Frank Fotia, President of FIA Region III (North America)
- Fabiana Ecclestone, FIA Vice-President for Sport (South America)
- Daniel Coen, FIA Vice-President for Sport (North America)
Their messages set the tone for the week: a call to strengthen collaboration between Clubs across North, Central, and South America, while driving progress in both mobility and motor sport.
Spotlight on Road Safety and Knowledge Sharing
The FIA Safe Mobility 4 All and 4 Life initiative was a highlight of the opening day. Thirteen FIA Member Clubs presented updates on their training, mentorship, and local road safety projects — with Region III clubs from Mexico and the Dominican Republic showcasing impressive progress.
Day 1 also hosted the FIA Region III Club Correspondents’ meeting, focused on coordination and practical support to roll out FIA Mobility programmes across the region.
Innovation and Growth in Focus
The second day shifted attention to the future of motor sport and mobility. Discussions centered on data-driven solutions to strengthen participation and improve road safety across the Americas.
A key session, “Tools and Strategies to Accelerate Business Growth,” was hosted by Region III Coordinator Kristine D’Arbelles. Clubs exchanged ideas on creating new revenue streams, delivering more value to members, and leveraging technology, partnerships, and commercial innovation to diversify services and accelerate income generation.
Celebrating Excellence
As tradition, the Congress concluded with the annual Prize Giving ceremony. The FIA Regions III and IV Champions of the FIA Innovation Challenge 2025 were announced — shining a spotlight on the creativity and ambition of our Member Clubs.
The Congress closed with the iconic family photo, capturing the spirit of unity and collaboration that defined the event.
